Dream
Far off into the endless white
cold vapors brush past,
like an icy hand across my face
The world below is so small
from inside the empyrean realm.
My other self is in the sky.
I know that I am the one I see flying,
every night as I drift into slumber
In my dreams, I have wings.

A seaside cottage,
amidst the briny smell of the tide.
A seagull flies overhead,
gliding over the sandy beach.
It sees the three of us,
and we wave back,
bidding it farewell.
Such was our most sincere wish.
Yet the world turned against us,
and such desires could not come to pass.
In the dead of a midsummer's night,
the angel ascended into the heavens,
plagued by darkness for all time.

A thousand summers, passing like a stream,
carrying with them the dreams of the sky
the dream of the white feathered wings.
She is there, soaring beyond the clouds
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting for her nightmare to end.
Visions of darkness, her eternal curse,
spanning a thousand summers.
Severing the threads of her hopes.
She is waiting in the AIR.
