english songs are hard to understand no matter how good(speaking+listening) ur english is, this is mainly due to:
1. Background instrument produces the sound that disturb ur hearing, making it hard for u to verify the exact words
2. The specialty of the singer(eg, jay chou), if every singer all sing loud and clearly, music would be boring that way.
3. Singer's english skill, japanese-english = hard to understand(at least that's how i feel).
i have been living in AUS for 10years, but still can't understand lot of songs. so don't feel depressed^^.

Actually, I think the pronunciation (and also performance) of Lia in song "Ana" is quite good already.
At least no deformed words, and the consonants are not "eaten". :P
Although I have to agree the grammer in some of the lyrics of the song is strange - I understand the meaning of each word seperately, by seems difficult to get the actual meaning of the sentence. :O

yeah, just like when u read the lyrics of some chinese songs, they don't fully make sense, only chinese ppl ourselves can funderstand it.
and its flavour can only be tasted when mixed with right music^^ and same apply to western music.
"Life is like a boat" is a good one, i strongly recommend it!
